A dancer, a feminist, a role model, a philanthropist, an actress, a Grammy Award-winning singer, a wife, a mother and the reigning queen of pop culture. Her name?
If you know anything about music and pop culture, chances are you’ve heard the name Beyoncé. Over the course of her 17+ years in the entertainment industry, Beyoncé has won 17 Grammy Awards, sold over 70 million solo records and 60 million albums with the pop group Destiny’s Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Known as the “Beyhive,” Beyoncé’s fan base refers to their fearless leader as “Queen Bey.” With a successful social media presence and globally recognized name, Beyoncé has rightfully earned her spot at the top of the charts.
So, what’s next on the queen’s to-do list?
Create her own clothing line.
Following in the footsteps of designers such as Alexander Wang and Givenchy, Beyoncé is taking her brand to a new level by designing affordable clothing. The new 50-50 partnership with clothing line Topshop and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment will feature athletic street wear including footwear, sportswear and accessories.
This is a huge business and PR move for Queen Bey. Adding a clothing line to her empire will ensure further success for Beyoncé and will prove she can shine within multiple industries.
Beyoncé continues to amaze me. She knows the public eye is always on her and with that in mind, she never fails to make smart decisions that positively effect not only her personal life, but her public image as well. By using her business savvy skills and impeccable public image, there is no doubt in my mind that Beyoncé’s new Topshop line will sell out the minute it hits stores.
In a statement to Vogue News, Beyoncé said, “I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting, and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”
To say I am BEY-ond excited for the queen’s new clothing line would be an understatement.
